This boxed set of 30 flat cards (with charming theme envelopes) presents 30 facsimiles of catalogue cards from the Library of Congress. Authors featured include: Jane Austen, Emily Brontë, and Albert Camus (A, B, C). The cards’ backside has a lovely vintage ruled design; there are also five alphabetical dividers, almost begging to be included in the epistolary action. (You’ll need to either trim down the bottom or use a larger envelope for this caper.) The envelopes open on the end, with a double vertical rule at left, which matches the card and can also help you center your recipient's name and/or address.

The drawer slides in and out so smoothly, and the box’s wood exterior and drawer pull are a trompe l’oeil triumph. The box is super-sturdy, a definite keeper once you have disbursed its contents to deserving correspondents.
