Boxmaking in Boston: Simple Keepsake Box

175.00

This flat-lidded box is a pleasing cube (3 x 3 x 3"). Handy for all manner of small desk accessories, from erasers to washi tapes and, of course, paper clips. Elegant for keys. Smart for jewelry.

Instructor: Bari Zaki

Date: Saturday, September 16 – 11am-2pm

Class size: 6 students. No previous boxmaking experience necessary.

Each student will construct a box from pre-cut pieces of binders-board. You’ll cover and line your box with Japanese papers, and then embellish the lid with a button or two. Voilà!

You will finish pressing your lid and inset-piece at home overnight, which we’ll demonstrate how to do.

Class fee includes all materials we use to make a box: binders-board, glue brushes, PVA adhesive, Japanese papers, Xacto blade, bonefolder, scissors, ruler, triangle rulers, and, last but not least, buttons. We look forward to sharing our love of papers & boxmaking (& buttons) with you in this three-ish hour workshop!
