Absorbent paper is folded and then dyed to produce interesting geometrical patterns when the paper is unfolded as practiced in Japan and around the world for centuries.  Zen like in it’s folding, the ancient technique reminds us to be present in the moment.

This exciting two hour workshop will introduce 4 basic paper folds. We will then experiment with nontoxic dye solutions resulting in beautiful papers that can be used for future art projects; bookbinding, envelope lining, gift-wrapping, gift-giving!  Or just because it's endlessly satisfying.

Class fee includes all materials to learn about Orizomegami: Sumi-e paper, inks, palettes, and clips.

Our studio is light-filled, airy, and organized. You are welcome to browse our extensive library of books about bookbinding, calligraphy, and drawing. We look forward to sharing our love of paper tie-dyeing with you in this three hour workshop!
