Drawing Faces | Cat Bennett

135.00

Instructor: Cat Bennett

Cat will return in 2019!

Drawing people can be really fun if we know how to simplify and not get lost in the details or in trying to get it all “right.” In this workshop, we’ll draw from photographs of people and learn how to break things down to get great likenesses and make interesting portraits.

Learning how to draw faces opens us up to possibilities in narrative and imaginative art making as well. The approach we will take using basic shapes as the foundation is one that can be applied to other kinds of art making too. We’ll look at the work of other artists to see how the many ways we can work with people as our subject matter.

Participants will receive a handout with suggestions about techniques and examples of other artists’ work.

Bring your creative spirit! All materials are provided and all skill levels are welcome!

Our studio is light-filled, airy, and organized. You are welcome to browse our extensive library of books about bookbinding, calligraphy, and drawing. We look forward to sharing our love of drawing & painting with you in this three hour workshop!
